We know that some oriental rugs can be delicate and can sometimes need very specific attention so our technicians will also determine whether our dry cleaning method is compatible with the type of rugs your have and make recommendations for the best outcome.

 

Our 7 Step Rug Cleaning Process

1. Pre-Inspection
   We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning “prescription”.
    

2. Dry Soil-Removal
   Woven rugs, especially hand-knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. We give your rugs a thorough vacuum using our commercial grade vacuum cleaner
    

3. Pre-Condition
   Rugs will then be pre-treated to emulsify the soils and any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated to increase the chances of removal.
    

4. Agitation and Cleaning
   We use our rotating brush machine (buffer) and thick towel pads to agitate and absorb loose dirt and remove stains.
    

5. Apply Carpet Protector (optional)
   Cleaning the rugs can remove some of the rug protector Scotchgard® from the fibers, therefore it is recommended to re-apply rug protector after cleaning. This helps the rug fibers to maintain resistance to spills or stains, and makes it easier to clean in the future.
    

6. Grooming Rug Fibers
   Using a carpet rake we comb the rug fibers repositioning them to their original state. This allows the rug protector if applied to work into the fibers while allowing the fibers to dry in an even pattern. This step also removes any lines made by the machine while cleaning.
    

7. Final Inspection
   Final walkthrough of cleaned surfaces to ensure you are pleased with the outcome.
